Launch of Inclusive Practice Programme
Playtrain is planning a new phase of research around inclusive practice. This research is be part of a much wider initiative that will explore, and eventually influence, ways to increase creative opportunities for vulnerable and marginalised children and young people across all sectors.
During this summer and autumn period there will be a period of research whereby artists and specialists in the field of inclusion will be invited to take part in a series of exploratory workshops. The aim of these will be to exchange ideas and experience to inform a new programme of training.
As part of the launch of this new initiative Playtrain is working in partnership with South Birmingham PCT Carers Support Team to deliver a series of creative sessions for disabled children and young people and their carers. The programme includes an exciting range of innovative activities across the visual arts, drama and music. Young people and their carers will have access to open ended creative-play activities as well as artist led sessions and opportunities to showcase their work.
Playtrain is keen to hear form Artists who are either experienced in inclusive practice or have an interest in developing this work further.
