The Arts Xpress!

Playtrain is currently delivering an exciting combined arts project across Birmingham with groups of young disabled people.  The Lankelly Chase Foundation have funded the current one-year project called ‘Arts Xpress’.  We have developed links with several partner agencies to deliver the project which offers high quality arts experiences for disabled children and young people.   We are working in partnership with the IKON Gallery, the New Walsall Art Gallery, Woodgate Valley Country Park and Visitor Centre, Milebrook Youth Centre in Bartley Green and Symphony Hall who are providing the facilities in which Playtrain facilitators work with the groups of young people.
The Arts Xpress has enabled us to build excellent working relationships with partner agencies who support disabled children and their families including Dens of Equality, Kids and Chinnbrook Children’s Centre.
Most importantly of all young people who would usually experience barriers to participation in a high quality arts programme have been enabled to work with a diverse range of highly skilled artists to produce some amazing work and to demonstrate their artistic flair and creativity.
