Meet The Team

Andy Davies - Director

I joined the team as Director at playtrain in December 2007. My background is in Children and Young People’s Play, Arts, Social Care, Education and Leisure provision within the voluntary sector. I have a special interest in working with children and young people to develop projects that are genuinely inclusive and which overcome barriers to participation.
I serve as Trustee of two charities and as Chair of Governors at a large secondary Special School. I share passionately the philosophy of valuing the views of ALL children and young people promoting the rights of the child through empowerment and lots of creative FUN!

Sandra Taylor - Creative Programme Manager

I have had the privilege of a long and fruitful career in the arts within a range of settings in the voluntary, public and private sector.

I began my career as a fine artist and through an early experience working in community arts, discovered the art of puppetry. I have co-founded and run a small puppet theatre company as well as worked in a range of theatres as a designer, maker, puppeteer and director. Alongside this, I have devised, delivered and managed numerous participatory arts projects with people of all ages and backgrounds across London and the West Midlands. I have also ran several education programmes enabling children and young people to explore literacy, culture and environmental issues through the creative arts.

I am passionate about creating opportunities for children to play and develop their creativity and am therefore thrilled to be part of the playtrain team.

Katy - Training & Admin Co-ordinator

I joined the playtrain team in April 2007 and I am currently completing a Masters degree in Children’s Literature on a part time basis.

playtrain’s outstanding contribution to the development of creative play had me hooked! My job involves the day to day administation of our projects and contracts, managing our training work and co-ordinating events. It is busy, challenging, fun, hectic and no two days are ever quite the same!
